Eli, Eli, Lama Sabachthani? The cry of Sinful Saints.

Many people are under the yoke of different problems and difficult challenges emanating from finances, health, emotion, social and material needs. Prayers and supplications going up to God everyday in order to receive liberation from these evil works of the Devil. The torment when a man found himself in an unpleasant situations, forsaken, despised and rejected by men. I was deep in thought how difficult such situation may be until the revelation from God about what real suffering means hit me. There is a particular heartbroken, bone draining and devastating situation. If a child of God is found in sin, every other problems should be set aside to address it. Freedom from all other evil lies in victory won when believer ceased to be a Sinful Saint.

What does it mean to be a Sinful Saint? That was the question I asked when the thought troubled my spirit until revelation from scripture ignites me with truth and reality about Saints who are living in sin. Many take sin so lightly with the mindset that grace is in operation. Some give themselves to deliberate disobedience and participate in evil activities that nonbelievers in the Lord Jesus Christ found absurd. My attention was drawn to God's reaction towards any Christian no matter how ranked among men who is defiled with sin by giving an illustration with His son.

Then Pilate set Barabbas free. And he told some soldiers to beat Jesus with whips. Then he handed him over to the soldiers to be killed on a cross.  Then they made a crown from thorny branches and put it on his head, and they put a stick in his right hand. Then they bowed before him, making fun of him. They said, “We salute you, king of the Jews!” They spit on him. Then they took his stick and kept hitting him on the head with it. People walked by and shouted insults at Jesus. They shook their heads He trusted God. So let God save him now, if God really wants him. He himself said, ‘I am the Son of God.’” At noon the whole country became dark. The darkness continued for three hours. About three o’clock Jesus cried out loudly, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” This means “My God, my God, why have you left me alone?”   Again Jesus cried out loudly and then died.   When Jesus died, the curtain in the Temple was torn into two pieces. The tear started at the top and tore all the way to the bottom. Also, the earth shook and rocks were broken. The graves opened, and many of God’s people who had died were raised from death. They came out of the graves. And after Jesus was raised from death, they went into the holy city, and many people saw them.
Mt. 27:26‭, ‬29‭-‬30‭, ‬39‭, ‬43‭-‬43‭, ‬45‭-‬46‭, ‬50‭-‬53 ERV

Am sure you are familiar with this account of Jesus Christ agony and pain for sins of human. He was a saint whom despite being in the flesh; tempted was without sin. He lived His lifestyle as example of God's pattern of living for born again and Spirit filled children of God. He constantly embraced the presence and the power of God. He manifested fully restoring sinners unto God until the dreadful moment He never bargain for; the time He turned a Sinful Saint. The moment Jesus Christ was condemned to the Cross bearing all sin and curses, God turned away from Him. Please reflect a little on the holiness and ministerial success of Jesus. Why should God forsake Him. Maybe if you checked well the accomplishments of the son of God, you will almost conclude that God was unfair in His action to this Sinful Saint.

Please join me as we receive the power to become victorious over besetting sin. Jesus was neither thinking about all the unjust treatment by men, the pain of ridicule mean nothing, losing earthly kingship never bothered Him, He never considered God as unjust neither did He say I will arise in power like the other times. He knew the emptiness and powerlessness of sinners; the knowledge Samson got so late. He could only focused on the most important thing to Him, only cried for restoration of fellowship with the Father. What a great cry in the mist of all other pain. Many believers today are Sinful Saints but the cry of their hearts was for God to bless them and take away financial and material lack. But heaven is waiting for sincere cry for restoration of fellowship. We have squandered God's talents given to us but only returned to Him back in arrogance for heavenly inheritance in the name of grace. We are prodigal son who came back for more loots rather than repentance.

Apostle Paul understood what it means to be a Sinful Saint when he cried to God. He knew all his labour will burn in fire if the achievements was about title and not holiness unto the Lord.

For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.  For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.  Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.  I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.  For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:  But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.  O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?  I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
Romans 7:18‭-‬25 KJV

When a Christian is found in this situation, there is no better thing to do than to put up a cry. The desperation for fellowship was so important to Jesus Christ than anything else. No wonder he cried twice within a short interval for restoration. Similarly when Apostle Paul got this knowledge his woeful life was exposed and he too put up a cry only to God who can deliver. Fellowship with God is nothing Christian can joke with when it's broken. God is already turned. If He can do it to Jesus Christ, Sinful Saints with sermon of grace sufficiency as license to sin is only playing with fire.

What answer do we get when we put up a cry? When Jesus Christ cried, His spirit was handed over to God. The bible confirmed that the covering of the Temple separating God and man was torn from top to bottom, the foundation of the earth quakes because God returned in power to reinforced holiness and restored peace to men. A true cry will remove veil of ignorance of God's word. Sincere cry will open the grave of sin and a new man nature will resurrect in us to occupy His Temple. Pretentious life of sin can only varnishes when there is a sincere cry for fellowship with God. Remember Jesus had to do it twice because of its importance. Apostle Paul never stopped until he was able to see his crown waiting for him. A man that cries will provoke God's power to remove his weaknesses and the root of sin. Cry is an evidence that a Christian hate what God abhorred.

What Satan is using to chain you down may be so important that crying will be difficult or practically impossible. He may use your love life by turning it into lust, furnication, Adultery, Homosexuality and all forms of uncleanliness. Desire for money may turn Christian to worshiper of Mammon. Respect or reference for men by disobedience to God was the cost King Saul paid as Sinful Saint. Judas only registered his identity as Sinful Saint by greediness and betrayal of the Lord. He could have cried like Brother Peter also a Sinful Saint who denied Jesus Christ thrice in a record breaking time interval. I trust the Lord to breathe upon these words by granting all Sinful Saints reading this post grace to put up genuine cry no matter how long it will be until Christ is completely formed in us.

Sincerely cry Eli, Eli Lama Sabachthani? and then expect complete restoration from sin and all other evil around will be gone. Just as those who condemned Jesus Christ later bore witness to His everlasting Lordship when the fellowship was restored.

Note: For every Sinful Saints, God is already turned. Sure qualification for Hell like sinners. Fellowship can only be restored with a non delayed sincere cry.

What is This? God's Principle of Meeting Christian Needs.

The mindset to develop as true child of God on our needs and daily provision was established in the scripture both old and new testaments. This revelation is important as many today still stay comfortably in Egypt with deception and false hope that they are fairing well on the road to Canaan. Many have enjoyed the grace established by Jesus Christ on the Cross when He said Father forgive them for they knew not what they are doing. But should children of God remained in Ignorance? Will it not lead to destruction and they too will perish with unbelieving world. Let us quickly examine one important principle of God's dealing with man in term of possession. And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.  And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron...

Church and Alcoholism.

Is Strong Wine or Beer acceptable in both old and modern Church? Text: Deuteronomy 14:22-26, 1 Samuel 1:1-19.  This is one of the controversial topic among Christian communities. The new testament Church want to know why the preachers of the Gospel discouraged the people from enjoying what God made provision for in Deuteronomy 14: 26. Let's go through this study together and see to what extent God's permission was given to difference classes of His creation to benefit, enjoyed or damage their life from all He made. It will interest you to know that there was a deliberate planting of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the centre of the first place of worship(Eden) in addition to other blessed trees. Genesis 2:16-17, 3:1-3. Questions of interest. 1. Why did God plant this? Omniscient. 2. Why put restrictions? Simply put; to prove our obedience and affirm our power of choice. 3. Why double standard, Genesis 1:29 granted permission to eat from all fruitful tr...

Is restoration of the Kingdom to Isreal God's priority?

United State of America before had made several attempts and speeches about restoring Israel. Isreal on the other hand had fought several war from inception but the battle seems unending. They enjoyed support from some countries and rebukes from many. The climax happened recently when President Donald Trump in 2017 formally announced relocation of American embassy to Jerusalem with his declaration of Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel. The ultimate expectation of the declaration was echoed by American Evangelical Christian Movement; as rebuilding of Jerusalem Temple in readiness for the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Restoration of Isreal Kingdom is that major to God than restoration of the kingdom of God to all nations? This same question was asked by Apostle almost immediately after resurrection of Jesus Christ before His ascension. The answer He gave reflect a better prophecy to any Christian body and the true mind of God for humanity. When men are eager to use authority...

Divine approach to forgiveness of deep hurt before sunset.

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:  Neither give place to the devil. Ephesians 4:26‭-‬27 KJV There was a discussion in the congregation of saints recently about the possibility of God's demand in the above scripture. The pressing question is how can error, sin or hurts too deep; be forgiven before sunset?  How possible if the event occurred in the evening of the day?  Many more queries and questions some of which the logical answers tend to buttress the impossibility of God's demand. But one thing is certain, the word of the Lord remains the only truth and source of life for a child of God. Attempt to fault or inability to obey any of God's instruction is pure manifestation of the flesh. Thus there is just one simple question children of God should ask; what is the divine approach to forgiveness of deep hurt before sunset. Answer to this question will be based on the premise that we are Christian "Like Father like son" in other...
